FatBet Week Two

Most peculiarly, all the divas are now exactly tied in the race to lose ten pounds. All of us have lost 1.8--we have quite a task ahead of us if we're to make our goal by April 1!

I wasn't doing well on Weight Watchers this time--it just gets so obsessive, thinking about every little thing you put in your mouth. So I switched to low carb. It's so much easier, and immediately I started losing.

I have now broken into the 130s!!!! I'm so excited. I feel like my long-term goal (Number 45) is within reach very soon! Ta da!!

Also, I found myself with an unexpected opportunity to knock off one of my other goals: #51--Try green tea. I was on my way home from a rehearsal with a friend, rather a long drive, and we stopped because she wanted tea time. I wasn't sure what I wanted exactly--I didn't want regular tea--and then I noticed they had green tea. At Dunkin' Donuts! Who knew? So I had some. It's great!!! It has only a slightly different flavor from regular tea, and now I think I'm a green tea drinker! I'm going to try some more brands.

So my friend took my picture to record the event.

(It doesn't look very green, does it?)

Hey, Melissa! Good for you! I'm jealous! I haven't tried green tea, but, must. It is supposed to be really good for you!

I can't believe your green tea de-virgining was done via Drunken Donuts. I can only imagine that they must brew the finest. ha!

Hey, Dunkin' Donuts is known for having good coffee! So I figured the tea wouldn't be too bad....

Yes I have a Kindle and have owned it since last Sept. It's great. In a previous life I was a librarian so I'm a book lover too though I get tired of buying individual books, reading them and letting them sit on a shelf. I also give them away. With the Kindle, I can read them, take them with me everywhere and mark the pages I like etc. It's a great contraption.

Shrink Yourself is good. Very helpful for me since I am now addicted to Foodgawker.com
:-)

BY THE WAY I have now tried two brands of green tea. I had Bigelow's at the office. And I was really bummed that they were out of it yesterday. As I said, I'm now a green tea drinker.

Melissa!
I wonder if drinking a little coca cola or some such with the B12 would allow you to take your original B12 dose and get adequate absorbs ion, per your comment on Cranky Fitness.

I find that I start to get a bit obsessive on WW too; and have to step back from the program for a little bit every once in a while. Now I'm trying just to get back on program enough to start writing in my (missing) journal.

Good work on keeping the FatBet momentum going.

Thanks for the tip, Dr. J!!! Coca cola, hm? Wonder if spicy V-8 wouldn't do as well? I never have coke around. Or what about Fresca?

Sbanfnyc said...

I bought Fresca this week end and a friend drinks the bottled green tea for lunch every day and says he loves it. Want me to get you some?

I only suggested coke for the acid. I would imagine a little of any acidic drink would work.
