Poem for Early March

"I wonder if the sap is stirring yet,
If wintry birds are dreaming of a mate,
If frozen snowdrops feel as yet the sun
And crocus fires are kindling one by one:
Sing robin, sing:
I still am sore in doubt concerning Spring."
- Christina Rossetti

I'm not a big Christina Rossetti fan, but this poem sure hits the spot for me right now...

Spring has sprung
The grass will grow
No more stepping
In yellow snow. ;)

Made up on the spot.

Lovely shot of the robin on the snow-covered branches.

I WISH the snow were yellow around here. No wait, maybe I don't..... Anyway it's grossly beige-to-charcoal, what's left of it.

It got warm today!

Love the poem, Melissa! It definitely copies my feelings about bringing on spring! I love robins. They're a good indicator that it's here!

I've been feeding the squirrels at work (pizza crust and anything else I can find) and I am seeing some really fat ones lately. Is that a sign of spring?
