Goal 45 - Weigh ≤130 and Goal 56 - Exercise 3 times a week

I guess I'm started on these...

So I weigh 146 lbs. (What's it to ya??) That means I have 16 pounds to lose. :-P No doubt having the hand surgery will take it down somewhat, but I'm hoping to lose most of it by making intelligent lifestyle decisions.

I'd been procrastinating on the exercise goal because of the upcoming surgery, but then I had to ask myself why, exactly. No doubt the surgery will slow me down for a bit, but that doesn't mean I have to put off exercising for over a month, now, does it?

This morning I thought I would capitalize on already having had a good hike on Sunday. So I went down and did some S.H.I.I.T. on the treadmill. (If you don't know what S.H.I.I.T. is, be sure to click the link.)

I did sort of a lame interval thing, I'm only walking a mile at a time to start off with, and I just bumped it up to 4mph for a couple of minutes a couple of times. Felt good, though. I sure hope my knees cooperate. It seems like every time I start exercising again some body part gives out. My plan is to go back to doing the physical therapy exercises for my various weak links along with the general fitness things.

By the by, speaking of therapy exercises, I made myself a mini-goal toward the major goal 57 (get right hand back into shape). I plan to hit the hand exercises hard, hoping that the tendon will in fact break loose from the scar tissue before the surgery on September 23rd. Right now I can't bend my pinkie more than a little bit. I slacked off my hand therapy there for a bit, but now I think I should rev that back up.

And no, I'm not counting this picture toward the 10 pictures. The other nine have to be of other subjects, I decided.

I like the picture- if it were of me, I'd be shaking my fist and yelling at the damn scale. I really need to hide mine because I've become waaaaaay too dependent on it.

I've started week 3 of the couch-to-5K and my weight is up about 3 pounds! I think it has to do with retaining more water on the days I work out but it still pisses me off.

130 is my goal weight as well but since I'm so short it should probably be lower- oh well, I'll just be happy if I get to 130 again!

Good luck with all your goals...I may just be inspired to join you and start a list of my own!!!

Thanks Emily!

I was 154 last year, and then I was too stunned to yell. I dropped 10 pounds or so through sporadic dieting and, mainly I think, changing antidepressant medication from Lexapro to Welbutrin. I didn't know a side effect of Lexapro was weight gain! >;(

Now I'm hoping the exercise regime will do the trick. I just don't think dieting works! It just makes me obsess about food.

BTW I found another blogger who has the 101/1001 project going! She's way farther along than I am. I forgot what the link was, but if I remember I'll put it up.

Good for you for not letting the surgery slow you down!
It's funny - 130 is MY goal weight too! Hope we will all get there. :-)

I love all your goals. YOu're hilarious. Kinda reminds me of a book I read called "The Scandalous Summer of Sissy LeBlanc." It's not about goals, but she has all these random rules that she numbers. It's a cute read.

Anywhooo, my goal was to weigh 130. It took me a while, but I eventually got there. Now I'm trying to stay there. Last October I was at 146. Good luck - you can totally do it!

Love the drawing!

And I don't think there is such a thing as lame intervals. Any time you bump it up for a bit and challenge your body, that's awesome! Some people get so dang serious about it.

Great blog! I love how goal-oriented you are. Good luck with your hand stuff. It sounds like you are on the right track with your exercise:)

Thanks for the comment on my blog!

Good to see you exercising! I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder awhile back. They wanted to put me on Lexapro but I was worried about the weight gain, sexual side effects, blah blah blah, so I said no way. Exercising is my medication. I am training for a half marathon (on Oct. 18th) right now and everytime I go out running I can just feel the seratonin flowing through my body.

And interval training can be whatever you want it to be. When I go running I sprint up the hills. I don't worry about how often or for how long.

Anyway, I loved the picture. Thanks for coming over and visiting me and leaving your mark again.

hey, do you draw for hire?

Thanks to everyone for the comments! And yes, Mizfit, I have been known to draw for hire. Haven't done much lately at all, which is why I made it a goal to get back into.

Cheers!
